Black Mirror: 15 Mil Merits

A topic that I thought of from watching this first episode of Black Mirror is having your talents be put down from others who you thought you could rely on. Additionally, when you want to pursue a talent that you have, but then have somebody tell you that they want something else that would supposedly be “better” for you. I think the Black Mirror argues that having your dream be put down is something that happens a lot in today’s society. Everybody in life has been rejected for something specific or by somebody in hopes that they wouldn’t but that is just a part of life. When it comes down to your dream that you want to actually use to make a difference in the world and live your life how you feel is the fullest and you have somebody take that away from you in a sense, then it can be very degrading and it crushes peoples souls and feelings. They did what they were supposed to do and they have the most amazing and beautiful talents but yet it was not enough. The person who has a higher advantage than someone and has power over if they get to pursue their dream or not, has full potential to either make or break you. I personally think that if I wanted to become a singer or an actress and I auditioned for a musical or movie or something along those lines and it was something I had dreamed of becoming my whole entire life and no matter how hard I tried, I still lost the life long battle of trying to make something big of myself, I would be so depressed. I would wonder why I felt all my years of living that that was what I felt like I would be doing with my life eventually.
